Daniel Putler, Co-Founder and Chief Data Scientist
Dan brings to Anemoi Analytics over 25 years of experience in both applied data analysis and the development of new data analysis techniques. Prior to co-founding Anemoi Analytics, Dan spent 20 years as a professor of marketing and marketing research, holding faculty positions at both the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University and the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. He received both a B.S. and Ph.D. degree from the Department of Agriculatural and Resource Economics at the University of California at Berkeley where his studies focused on statistics, econometrics, and consumer economics. With Robert Krider he is the author of the book Customer and Business Analytics: Applied Data Mining for Business Decision Making Using R, forthcoming from Chapman & Hall/CRC. His academic research focused on the interface between predictive modeling methods and geographic information science. His objective in co-founding Anemoi Analytics is to bring the benefits of those methods to a wide set of users.
Walter Sinclair, Co-Founder and Chief of Technology Infrastructure
Walter has been developing software systems in a variety of database languages and C for three decades. He has worked on a number of geospatial oriented projects, including being the lead developer for the Postal Address Geocoder (or PAGC), a project supported and used by Anemoi Analytics. He is a consultant on the E-Flora project being developed at the University of British Columbia. In addition to his software development projects, Walter has been the co-owner of two independent bookstores in Vancouver, British Columbia for over 30 years. As a result of this, he is keenly aware of the issues and challenges faced by small retailers in making site location other business decisions, valuable exprience that Anemoi Analytics leverages.
